Fajita Turkey Burger with Salsa Verde

Turkey burgers.  Some people love 'em, some people hate 'em.  Me....I love 'em.  But you probably knew that already.  In fact, one of my favorite summer meals is this turkey burger recipe.  It's also Brandon's favorite meal, I sure do bet he'd be happy if I made it again!  Maybe for his birthday. 

Anywho.  This one is another keeper.  Next time, I'll add salt and pepper in order to kick up the flavor just a bit.  Other then that, what we have here is a good, solid turkey burger recipe.  With salsa verde on top.  And orange bell peppers.  And some other jazz. 


Fajita Turkey Burger
adapted from Eat Live Run 

1 lb lean ground turkey
1 orange (or red or yellow) 
1/2 onion
1 egg
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp chili powder
1 1/2 tsp tobasco 
salt and pepper
salsa verde (for serving)

Combine all ingredients.  Divide into four equal parts and form into patties.  Cook using desired cooking method.  I cooked them in a pan on top of the stove.  

Serving size 1 pattie (makes 4)
Points plus 5 

Serve on a light wheat but (2 pp) with 1/2 oz of pepper jack cheese (1 pp) and topped with some salsa verde (0 pp).  Heck yeah!
